- Taking rare scooters to new heights…
Perry Lewis told me that the first scooter he was offered was a ‘Rally’, courtesy of an elderly neighbour. Triumphant joy soon turned to dismay when the scooter in question was retrieved from a cellar and found to be an 80cc Raleigh Roma. Still, it’s a great tale!
Since then Perry’s fascination for scooters hasn’t waned, erring towards the Lambretta side of things these days and in particular having a fond interest in models produced in SpainHaving first owned a Jet 200 early on in his Scootering life (after writing his SX200 off into a police car!), about 10 years ago Perry had a sudden desire for another one – and that led to where he is now; the chap responsible for introducing us Brits to Spanish Jet 200s and Series 2 TV 175s with disc brakes, the Winter Model and now a Spanish TV200. For a true Lambretta aficionado these machines have simply got to rate as some of rarest in the world, even if only for the fact that they were produced in such few numbers.
Much more in the current issue of Scootering Magazine..
