1eres confirmations: My Bloody Valentine, Babyshambles et Rumble Strips.
FIB Heineken has the pleasure to announce the first names in the line-up for the 2008 edition of the Festival, as well as the sale of passes for this coming edition which will be issued at a special price.
My Bloody Valentine, headed up by Kevin Shields, put all their energies - and all the proceeds from ‘Creation’ - into the birth of ‘Loveless’ (1991). A culminating work of timeless rock, founded on a carefully crafted production in the guitar tracks superimposed on one and other creating an all-encompassing and asphyxiating atmosphere from which emerge whispered melodies of great fragility. ‘Loveless’ effectlively redefined the sound and profoundly influenced the work of an infinite number of works from shoegazing and noise bands.
From their own particular London limbo, Babyshambles come back to life with ‘Shotter´s Nation’ (2007) - with The Kinks’ ‘The Village Green Preservation Society’ (1968) firmly in their mind’s eye. A mixture of Victorian decadence and punk nihilism in equal measures.
In the wake of Dexy´s Midnight Runners arrive The Rumble Strips, with only one album on the market to date, ‘Girls & Weather’ (2007), have been able to capture everyone’s attention resuscitating rocksteady, ska and pop styles which allowed Kevin Rowland’s to touch the sky.
